Live Life to the FULLEST!

071509

Within the past few days, I have learned of so many families that have lost loved ones due to car accidents, premature death, or other various causes.  It seems as if we are in a season of people going on from this life;  MJ, Farah, and even Billy Mays, and there are still others, Ed McMahon and so many more.   As I was sitting on the patio this morning, I was reflecting on all of these changes that the living are going through, and couldn’t help but to think of our own loss of our daughter, Amy, and her battle with cancer.  I reflected upon that not from a mourning stance, but rather thinking man, I know in part of what these folks are about to walk through, and my heart was just broken for all of them.  I thought about MJ’s daughter and her statement, not about the Pop Star, but about “Daddy,” and thought yeah, it doesn’t matter about what or who they were to ‘us,’ but rather to their family, they were just plain mom or dad, daughter or son.  Oh, the trials of life.

It was then that I thought of the promise that we have held onto as a family regarding Amy; the promise that speaks of us seeing her again.  It is the promise that is spoken about in Scripture that says in John 21:31, “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”   This verse in and of itself is phenomenal to me because it speaks of the promise, that promise of reconnection.  Not in some afterlife, or reincarnation, or through Buddha or Mohamed or some other false god, but through the one and only true and living God and His Son, Jesus.

I wonder, who have you lost?  What have you lost?  I know that you and I can agree on one thing.  We should live life to the fullest; however, the part that we may disagree on is how to live our life.  One thing that I know is that I have lived life apart from Christ, and I have lived my life with Christ, and WITH is so much more fulfilling than boats, girls and beer.  The reality of it is that when I truly cried out and said, “I’m done!,” He was there and picked me up and took me to a place of truly living LIFE to the fullest!  I look back now and see that what I thought was truly living was nothing like living is now!

Friend, I wonder, have you made that decision to truly live your life to the fullest?  I wonder, are you really at that point of seeing and knowing the fullness of what He can offer you?  Have you been broken only to wonder where or what to do?  Well, the answer is free, and is in this writing right before you.  It is Jesus!  It is Him and only Him that will fill you and fix you in accordance to what He promises you.  Here is what He promises today; two things out of John 10:10. The first is that there is a thief and he comes for this purpose – to steal, to kill, and to destroy.  Yet here is what Jesus promises….that He (Jesus) comes that we might have life AND have it abundantly.  So yes, let’s live life to the fullest.  Just live it through Jesus!

Because the bottom line is this; we can live with Him or without Him, but in the end when death comes, the decision and the opportunity that was given to you even now, if not accepted, will be made permanent….when death comes.  The wildest thing about all of this is of all the deaths that I thought about this morning, with the exception of Farah’s, were fast and sudden, unplanned, unexpected, and unknown to the person – it just happened.  How do you plan for that?  How do you say, “Well, I’ll catch up with you later Jesus!  I want to live right now.”  Yet, living through Him is life and life more abundantly.

If you haven’t tried Jesus, try Him today.  If you’ve fallen away, come back.  His everlasting arms are there for you today, all that He asks is that you come and answer the knock that is at the door.  Won’t you?

Just pray this prayer right now, right this instant. Don’t wait for tomorrow, because we know that we’re not promised tomorrow….just pray…”Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, please forgive my sins and wipe them away as far as the East is from the West.  Accept me into your Kingdom when I die.  Holy Spirit, please come and fill me with your Spirit.  Help me to live the Christian life.  Help me to read my Bible everyday, pray to God like I’m talking to my best friend, and find a Bible based, Jesus preaching church.  Thank you for forgiving my sins and accepting me into your Kingdom when I die.”

That’s it!  That’s all there is to it.  Now, if you prayed that prayer for the first time, or if you have just rededicated your life to Christ, I want to know about it.  If you don’t have a Bible, then I want to know that as well.  I want to send you a book that I wrote entitled, “The Most Important Decision.”  It talks about the next steps to take after accepting Jesus.  Please do this today, and either respond back to this blog or write me today.  Kevin Hull Ministries, PO BOX 1791, Leander, TX. 78646 or call me at 1-877-528-0133.

Hey, we love you, bless you, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Blessings,

PKH

Revelation From A Night Under The Stars

Recently, our Air Conditioning went out and in fact, is still out as I write this post!  Although it has been hot in this 100 + degree weather, I had the opportunity on one of these hot nights to sleep outside, as it was much cooler than being inside.  As I went outside and placed a blanket on the ground, I did something that I haven't done since we lived in a little West Texas town named Pampa -  I looked at the sky and stared up at the stars!  It may seem interesting to you that I haven't taken the time to look at the night sky in quite some time.  In fact, because of the busy-ness  of the ministry and just life in general, I haven't taken the time to do much of anything like that in quite some time! We should all take the time to look at the beautiful night sky; it was quite fascinating.  To think that the God of the universe not only formed the stars but knows them by name; and then I thought about us, and how he even has our hairs numbered!  Incredible! Now that is love!

Yet, when I did that, something amazing took place.  I began to realize how small and finite we truly are.  I mean, think about it.  Average life in the US in 77 years.  Now most I pray surpass that, and in fact if we take care of our temple (body), we sure might.  Yet, here is the reality.  We live and we die.  We will be missed by some maybe a week, some of us maybe even a year or two, but life goes on for us. We lost a daughter to cancer and still miss her deeply, but we have moved on and have learned to adapt to life without Amy.  Sad but true. God has formed us to be people that are enabled to move on from a loss.  Yet, here's what I realized.  It's all about Grace.  It's all about Relationship.  Its truly is.

I look at situations that have occurred in my life and realize that in the past, there have been so many times that I have judged situations prematurely, and, without knowing the facts, condemned the person, sentenced them, and carried out that sentence, hurting the one whom I have condemned.  All the while doing the thing that the Word clearly says to not do, which was by my judgment, to exclude them from the fold.   I think about this because everyone has a sphere of influence.  Everybody knows somebody, and those bodies that we know look to us either in full or part for example, witness, and for some, they look at us to know what Jesus looks like.

So then when we come back with unforgiveness within our hearts, or just a hardened heart because of an injury that we have suffered (right or wrong), we find ourselves not allowing the Grace that has been extended to us to be extended to them.  The Word says woe to us for tying a millstone around their neck and chunking them into oblivion; all because we did not offer the same grace and forgiveness that was extended to us through Jesus Christ in the first place.

Yet, then I think about the first word that the Lord gave me on this subject which is to "always err on the side of grace."  I was going through a difficult time in my life and ministry recently when the Lord spoke this to me, I believe for the sole purpose of knocking some sense into my head so that I would extend out what has been extended to me!  When I received that revelation, I realized the fullness of what Jesus had done for me on the cross.  God knew that I would be born into sin, knew that I would sin, knew that I would walk in sin, resemble sin, etc.  Yet, through that sin, He made the decision to extend grace to us anyway.  So, He does this for us everyday without condemning, and without trying to super-impose His will on our lives; He just forgives.  Through the Blood of Jesus, He forgives, and then does something even greater than that.  He forgets!  Amazing really, truly amazing!  The bible says in Psalm 103 that as far as the East is from the West, He forgives!  Period!  He just does, regardless of what we have done!  That is grace..that is relationship.  For some of you reading, it's a new concept; a new way to think that God, the creator of the Universe, would do that.  Yet He will.  It's just that simple - He will.

And I look at some of us who don't have this grace.  Why is that?  I want to encourage you today to do just that.  Realize that there are always others that are watching you, to see how to be, how to act, what to think, how to think.  What example are we setting for them today; does it line up with the precious Word?  Does it line up with Jesus?  The Father? Has the Holy Spirit been speaking to you to release something but you just can't - or won't?  Oh try my friend, please try, and understand that with however much you release, He will take, if truly it is released.  One final thing - you don't have to be judge and jury.  It's not your place.  So, we probably would be wise to step out of this role and into the role of, "We err always on the side of grace"

Blessings,

Pastor Kevin Hull

I realize more everyday the grace with which we must live, and how living out that grace exemplifies the Father.
